Privacy policy

Last updated October 19, 2026

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Gift Wombat (giftwombat.com). The short version: we don’t ask for your name or email, we don’t have accounts, and we don’t sell your personal information.

The gift quiz

Your quiz answers are processed in your browser to pick gift ideas. We don’t save them on our servers. Your answers, including anything you type in the optional “anything else?” box, are stored in the address (URL) of your results page, so you can come back to it or share it. If you share that link, whoever opens it can see those answers. Don’t type anything private in the notes box.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Analytics

To understand which pages are useful, we may use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless: it doesn’t set cookies or use local storage, and it doesn’t track you across other websites. It gives us totals such as page views, referring sites and country, not information about you as an individual.

Amazon links and cookies

Gift Wombat participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click a link marked “(paid link)”, you leave our site and go to Amazon. Amazon may then set cookies in your browser so it can credit us if you make a qualifying purchase. Amazon sends us aggregated reports about orders and earnings. Those reports don’t identify you to us. What Amazon collects is covered by Amazon’s Privacy Notice.

Pinterest

The “Save to Pinterest” button simply opens Pinterest in a new tab with a link to the page. Nothing from Pinterest loads on our pages until you click it. We have a Pinterest tag (a measurement script) built into the site, but it is turned off. We’ll only use it if we decide to turn it on, and we’ll update this policy before we do.

What we don’t do

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, including Amazon’s. You can use the whole site without clicking any affiliate link. If you email us, we use your email only to reply, and you can ask us to delete it.
